Glazed Pears and Apples
|Granulated sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Boiling water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Apricot jam||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Sherry||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Early in day: Preheat oven to 350°F.
Simmer sugar, butter and boiling water together 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, pare apples and pears; place in 3-quart casserole; pour lemon juice and sugar syrup over fruit.
Cover; bake 45 minutes or until tender; cover; refrigerate.
To serve: Arrange pears and apples in serving dish.
Add apricot jam to sherry; brush generously over fruit.
