|Water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Red cinnamon candies||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Tart apples||2 1⁄4 Pound, cored and cut into 1/2 inch thick rings (6 Medium Size)|
|Lemon juice||3 Tablespoon|
In 12-inch skillet combine sugar, water, and candies. (Electric skillet 350°.)
Heat till candies dissolve.
Reduce heat to maintain gentle rolling boil (250°).
Brush apple rings with lemon juice to prevent discoloration.
Add 8 to 10 apple rings; cook in syrup till tender, turning once, about 2 minutes on each side.
Carefully lift apples from syrup with slotted pancake turner.
Drain on rack set on baking sheet.
Repeat with remaining apples.
Serve warm or thoroughly chilled.
Use to garnish roast pork, if desired.
