|Red cinnamon candies||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped nuts||1 Tablespoon|
1. Core apples. Pare 1-inch strip of skin around top of each apple. Place each apple upright in 10-ounce dish or custard cup. Place 1 tablespoon candies and 1 tablespoon brown sugar in center of each apple, pressing firmly. Arrange dishes in circle in microwave.
2. Microwave uncovered on high 5 to 10 minutes, rotating dishes 1/2 turn after 3 minutes, until apples are tender when pierced with knife. Spoon syrup in dishes over apples; sprinkle with nuts. Serve warm or cold and with half-and-half if desired.
