Apple Mystery Dessert

Ingredients
For dessert
  All purpose flour/Unbleached flour 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Mace 1 Dash
  Cinnamon 1 Dash
  Vanilla 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Eggs 2
  Chopped peeled tart apples 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Chopped walnuts 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
For sauce
  Margarine/Butter 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), softened
  Powdered sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Dash
  Milk 1 Tablespoon
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Heat oven to 350°F.
Grease 9-inch pie pan.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
In large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, mace and dash of cinnamon; mix well.
Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and eggs; blend well.
Add apples and walnuts; mix well.
Pour into greased pan.
Bake at 350°F for 20 to 40 minutes or until browned and firm to the touch.
In small bowl, combine all hard sauce ingredients.
Beat at high speed until well blended.
Shape into a 2-inch-thick roll or press into molds.
Wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate until firm.
To serve, cut hard sauce into slices or unmold; place a slice on each wedge of dessert.
