Candied Apples With Almond Topping

Ingredients
  Apricot jam 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Apple juice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Grated orange rind 1 Tablespoon
  Apples 6 Medium
  Whipped cream/Whipped topping 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Chopped almonds 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Combine apricot jam, sugar, water, apple juice, and orange rind in large saucepan; heat 5 minutes.
Cut apples in half; remove cores and peel.
Place apples in hot syrup; cover and cook slowly until apples are tender but not mushy.
Add additional apple juic
