Cinnamon Toast Apple Dessert
|Whole wheat bread slices||6|
|Butter/Margarine||1 Tablespoon, softened|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Canned applesauce||16 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Raisins||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Maple syrup||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Light cream||1 Tablespoon|
Heat oven to 350°.
Trim crusts from bread slices; spread slices with butter.
Cut each slice into 4 pieces.
Mix sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar mixture in ungreased square pan, 8 X 8 X 2 inches.
Arrange half of the bread in pan, buttered sides up; sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar mixture.
Cover with applesauce; sprinkle raisins on applesauce.
Top with remaining bread; sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture.
Pour syrup over top.
Bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes.
