Apple Sponge Dessert
|Grated lemon rind||1 Teaspoon|
Peel, core and slice apples, combine in saucepan with sugar, water, lemon rind, and cloves, cover, cook gently until apples are tender.
Place in greased pie dish; remove cloves.
Spoon topping over hot apples, sprinkle with extra sugar.
Bake in moderate oven, Mark 4,350°F., 30 to 35 minutes.
