Spiced Baked Apples

Ingredients
  Apple cider 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
  Cinnamon sticks 3 (3 Inch Each)
  Whole cloves 12
  Rome beauty apples/Golden delicious apples 2 Pound (4 Large Sized)
Directions

In a 2- to 3-quart pan, bring cider, lemon juice, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and anise to a boil.
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Core apples; slice into 1/4-inch rounds into a shallow 2 1/2- to 3-quart casserole.
Pour cider mixture over apples.
Bake, uncovered, in a 350° oven until apples are tender when pierced, 15 to 20 minutes; baste several times.
