Poached Apple Slices
|Cooking apples||3 Medium, sliced (peeled, cored)|
|Lemon juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Water||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cinnamon stick||1 (about 3 inches)|
Place apple slices in a large bowl; add lemon juice, tossing well.
Combine water, sugar, cloves, and cinnamon stick in a large nonstick skillet; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, until mixture is reduced to 1/3 cup.
Remove and discard spices.
Add apple slices.
Cover and simmer 10 minutes or until apples are render, stirring occasionally
