Spiced Apples And Beef

Ingredients
  Beef chuck/Round 2 Pound (Cut In 1-Inch Cubes)
  Beef chuck/Round 2 Pound, cut in 1-inch cubes
  Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
  Water 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Lemon juice/Lime juice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sliced onion 2 Cup (32 tbs), sliced

  Curry powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Peeled tart cooking apples 3 Cup (48 tbs) (In 1-Inch Wedges)
  Chopped watermelon 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Chopped watermelon pickle 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Hot buttered rice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), hot cooked
  Hot buttered rice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Brown beef cubes in the oil in heavy kettle.
Add 1 cup water, lemon juice, onion and seasonings.
Bring to boil, cover and simmer 40 minutes.
Add apple wedges and remaining 1/2 cup water, mixing gently.
Cover and simmer 40 minutes, or until meat is tender.
Gently mix in pickle, if used.
