|Ground cinnamon||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Peeled tart cooking apples||3 Cup (48 tbs) (In 1-Inch Wedges)|
|Chopped watermelon||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Chopped watermelon pickle||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Hot buttered rice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), hot cooked|

Brown beef cubes in the oil in heavy kettle.
Add 1 cup water, lemon juice, onion and seasonings.
Bring to boil, cover and simmer 40 minutes.
Add apple wedges and remaining 1/2 cup water, mixing gently.
Cover and simmer 40 minutes, or until meat is tender.
Gently mix in pickle, if used.
