Smoked Sausage And Apple Slices On Sauerkraut
|Apples||2 Large (Golden Or Red, Delicious)|
|Sauerkraut||3 Cup (48 tbs), drained|
|Caraway seeds||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Grated carrots||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Dried thyme||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dry white wine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Smoked sausage||1 Pound, cut in 3-inch diagonal pieces (1/2 Inch Thick)|
Peel and core apples and cut into thin slices.
Heat sauerkraut in a saucepan over medium heat.
Mix in caraway seeds, carrots, and apples, stirring often.
Add salt, thyme, pepper, and wine; blend all ingredients together.
Simmer about 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and spread in a casserole dish.
Preheat stovetop grill.
Cook over medium-high heat about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes on each side.
Sausage should be hot and golden brown.
Remove sausage and mix with hot sauerkraut.
