Winter Squash With Apples

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 4 Tablespoon
  Butternut squash/Banana squash 1 Pound, peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes
  Water 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Tart apple 1 Large, cored, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  Lemon juice 2 Teaspoon
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Ground cinnamon 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ground nutmeg 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
Directions

Melt butter in a wide frying pan over medium-high heat.
Add squash, water, apple, and lemon juice.
Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until squash is just tender and liquid is absorbed (4 to 5 minutes).
Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to taste.
Heat for 1 minute to melt brown sugar.

This recipe was so yummy. By the time we sat down to eat dinner it was bursting with flavor. My kids literally ate it in seconds. The aroma alone was to tempting for them. My eleven year old told me it taste like apple pie. It was delicious.
