|Maple syrup/Light brown sugar / honey||1 Tablespoon|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Raisins||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Coarsely chopped walnuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Lemon zest strips||2 , grated or chopped|
|Granny smith apples||4 , cored, the top third cut off and discarded|
|White wine||6 Tablespoon|
1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
2. Combine maple syrup, brown sugar or honey, cinnamon, raisins, walnuts, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Divide mixture into four parts and stuff inside apples.
3. Place apples in a small baking dish, so that they are touching (the mutual support helps keep them together) and pour the wine around them.
4. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the apples are soft.
