Currant Apple Dessert

Ingredients
  Tart green apples 2 Large, peeled, cored and sliced
  Brown sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Water 1 Tablespoon
  Grated lemon peel 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Currant jelly 2 Teaspoon
  Vanilla 1⁄8 Teaspoon
Directions

Combine apples, sugar, water, lemon peel and cinnamon in medium skillet and toss thoroughly.
Cover, place over medium heat and simmer gently 10 minutes.
Add currant jelly and simmer, uncovered, 5 more minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
