Crunchy Apple Dessert
|Cooking apples||4 Medium|
|Dark seedless raisins||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Quick cooking oats||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Uncooked)|
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||3 Tablespoon|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground allspice||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Half and half||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Peel apples and cut each in half; remove cores and slice apples. Grease 8" by 8" baking dish. Combine apple slices, raisins, and lemon juice in baking dish.
2. In 1-quart saucepan over medium heat, melt butter or margarine. Remove from heat;stir in oats and remaining ingredients except half-and-half until mixture forms large crumbs.
3. Spoon oat mixture on top of apple mixture. Bake 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is crisp and lightly browned. Serve warm or chilled in dessert bowls. Pass half-and-half to pour over each serving.
