Rut Apple Streusel
|Rutabaga||1 Large, peeled and diced|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1 Pinch|
|Sliced apples||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), peeled|
|All purpose flour||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Butter||2 Tablespoon, softened|
Cook rutabaga in small amount of boiling salted water until tender; drain and mash, adding butter.
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon; toss apples in sugar mixture.
Arrange alternate layers of rutabaga and apples in a greased 2-quart casserole, beginning and ending with rutabaga.
Combine flour and brown sugar; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle over casserole and bake at 350° for 1 hour
