Apple Date Dessert
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sifted cake flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground cinnamon||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1 Teaspoon|
|Apples||3 Cup (48 tbs), pared|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Dates||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Sift cake flour, baking soda, salt, and spices together.
Mix apples and lemon juice.
Add dry ingredients alternately with apples to creamed mixture, beating until blended after each addition.
Fold in nuts and dates.
Turn mixture into a greased and floured 13x9x2-inch pan and spread evenly.
Bake at 350°F 50 to 55 minutes.
