Spicy Cajun

Spicy Cajun is known as a popular cuisine that got the name Cajun from the French-speaking Cajun immigrants from Asadia in Canada to the Acadiana region of Louisiana, USA. Spicy Cajun cuisine is simply prepared and is a kind of a rustic cuisine where the focus is on using the locally available ingredients. A traditional Cajun meal consists of three pots, where one pot is a main dish; the second contains steamed rice or skillet cornbread and the third pot contains vegetables.

 

Making Spicy Cajun

Some of the most important vegetables that are integral to Cajun cuisine are bell pepper, onion and celery while popular seasonings include parsley, bay leaf, green onions and dried cayenne pepper. Spicy Cajun cuisine also involves preparation of game meat dishes accompanied by rice or corn and one of the most frequent methods of preparation is smoking the meat. Other types of preparation of food usually include barbecueing with Cajun seasonings, different types of grilling, braising, deep frying, frying and stewing.
