Shrimp Creole is a wonderful dish that is perfect for your dinner parties. This sumptuous Shrimp Creole was praised by all my guests at a party I hosted last week. Try this brilliant recipe at home and you will understand why!
|Raw shrimp||1 Pound, peeled and deveined|
|Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Flour||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Hot water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Garlic||4 Clove (20 gm), finely chopped|
|Green onion tops||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|Chopped parsley||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped green pepper||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Whole bay leaves||2|
|Crushed whole thyme||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cayenne pepper||1 Dash|
|Canned tomato sauce||8 Ounce|
|Cooked rice||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Cut shrimp in half.
Melt shortening; blend in flour.
Add hot water gradually; cook until thick.
Add remaining ingredients except rice.
Cover; simmer 20 minutes.
Serve over rice.
