Washington Nut Bars
|Cake flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Dark corn syrup||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Butter||3 Tablespoon, melted|
|Walnuts||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs), chopped|
Rub together well, flour, sifted brown sugar and 1/2 cup shortening.
Pat into 8 x 8 inch pan and bake in moderate oven 35CÂ°F. 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and cover with following mixture: Beat eggs, add 1/3 cup sugar, corn sirup, melted butter, flavoring and nuts.
Bake at 350Â°F. 25 minutes.
