Boiled Slaw

Boiled Slaw is simply irresistible, to say the least! Try this Boiled Slaw; I am sure you'll have a huge fan following for this one.
Ingredients
  Cabbage 1 Large
  Green bell pepper 1
  Onion 1 Large
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Celery seed 1 Tablespoon
  Salad oil 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Vinegar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Grate half of cabbage into a large airtight bowl.
Add a layer of half bell pepper, grated, and half onion, grated.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar on.
Repeat layers of grated cabbage, bell pepper and onion.
Sprinkle with remaining half cup of sugar.
Bring to a boil the vinegar, oil, salt and celery seed.
Pour boiling hot mixture over cabbage.
DO NOT STIR.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, then stir and serve.
