|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Celery seed||1 Tablespoon|
|Salad oil||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Vinegar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Grate half of cabbage into a large airtight bowl.
Add a layer of half bell pepper, grated, and half onion, grated.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar on.
Repeat layers of grated cabbage, bell pepper and onion.
Sprinkle with remaining half cup of sugar.
Bring to a boil the vinegar, oil, salt and celery seed.
Pour boiling hot mixture over cabbage.
DO NOT STIR.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, then stir and serve.
