Scoop out the cabbages, leaving the outer shells unbroken. Chop the scooped part finely and put it in ice-cold water for at least 30 minutes.
Chop the apples leaving the skins intact.
Mix the cabbage and apples with the cream. Add salt and sugar. Chill thoroughly.
Fill the cabbage cases with salad.
Decorate with cherries, apple slices and grated carrots.
