Kentucky Pecan Cake

Ingredients
  Rising flour 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Vegetable oil 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Applesauce 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Ground cinnamon 2 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Egg yolks 4
  Hot water 2 Tablespoon
  Pecans 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
  Egg whites 4
  Powdered sugar 1 Tablespoon, sifted (as required)
Directions

Combine first 7 ingredients in order listed; beat until smooth.
Stir in pecans.
Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until stiff; fold into batter.
Pour mixture into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
Invert pan, and cool cake completely; remove from pan.
Sprinkle top of cake with sifted powdered sugar
