Southern Pecan Pie

Ingredients
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 3 Small, beaten
  Dark corn syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Pecans 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
  Pastry shell 1 , unbaked
  Pecan halves 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly; add eggs, syrup, vanilla and chopped nuts.
Mix well.
Turn into pastry shell.
Arrange pecan halves on top of pie.
Place on lower rack of oven.
Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes or until firm in center.
