American Fried Chicken
|Chicken||3 1⁄2 Pound, frying|
|Flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Hot water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Onion||1 Small, sliced|
Cut chicken into serving pieces.
Wash and wipe dry.
Combine flour, salt, pepper and paprika.
Dredge pieces of chicken in the seasoned flour.
Heat Skillet, add shortening as needed.
Brown pieces of chicken.
Add water and onion.
Cook over very low heat until tender-about 1 hour.
