Christiana Campbell's Tavern Spoon Bread

Ingredients
  White sugar 1 1⁄3 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Cornmeal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter 4 Tablespoon
  Boiling water 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Eggs 3
  Baking powder 1 Tablespoon
  Hot milk 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
Directions

Grease a 2 quart casserole.
Mix together well, sugar, salt and cornmeal.
Add butter and boiling water, stirring constantly.
Set aside to cool.
Beat eggs with baking powder until very fluffy.
Add to cooled cornmeal mixture.
Stir in milk, pour into casserole.
Set casserole in shallow pan of hot water.
Bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes.
Serve hot.
