Pa Dutch Red Beet Eggs
|Beets||1 Can (10 oz), sliced|
|Eggs||1 Dozen, hardboiled|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vinegar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
1) In a large saucepan, add all ingredients leaving the eggs.
2) Place over heat and bring to boil.
3) Remove from heat.
4) Put the warm, peeled, hard-boiled eggs in the mixture while the mixture is hot but off the heat.
5) Allow standing for a day before eating for maximum absorption.
6) Season with freshly ground black pepper, before serving.
