Classic Apple Charlotte
|Cooking apples||2 Pound|
|Brown sugar||2 Ounce|
Stew the peeled, cored and sliced apples gently in a little water with the sugar.
Grease a pie dish and sprinkle some crumbs over the bottom.
Then add alternate layers of apples and crumbs, finishing with crumbs.
Heat the lemon juice, syrup, water and rind, pour over the mixture.
Dot with butter and bake in a moderate oven for about1/2 hour.
