Beaten Biscuits

Ingredients
  Flour 8 Cup (128 tbs) (sifted)
  Soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Lard 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
Directions

MAKING
1) In a bowl, sift the flour, sugar and salt and soda together
2) Slice the lard into the flour mixture and mix in to resemble a fine meal
3) Add 1 cup of water and blend in thoroughly
4) Place the dough on a wooden board and pound using a hammer
5) Turn the dough frequently for about 20 t0 30 minutes till the dough blisters and becomes satiny in texture
6) Roll out the dough to 1/3 thickness and cut with a small biscuit cutter
7) Bake the biscuits for 25 minutes at 400F till lightly browned

SERVING
8) Serve warm
