Flemish Beef Stew

Ingredients
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Bacon slices 6
  Onion 1 Medium, sliced
  Stew beef 2 Pound
  Flour 2 Tablespoon
  Canned consomme 20 Ounce
  Bay leaf 1
  Thyme 1 Pinch
  Garlic salt 1 Pinch
  Vinegar 2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
Directions

MAKING
1) In a skillet, fry the bacon till crisp
2) Using a slotted spoon, remove the bacon from the skillet
3) In a 2 quart casserole, crumble the bacon and place in the casserole
4) In the skillet, sauté the onion in the bacon drippings till tender and add to the bacon
5) Sauté the beef in the bacon drippings and then add the salt and pepper
6) Take off from the heat and then add the consommé stirring constantly
7) Pour this mixture over the onion and bacon along with the thyme, garlic salt, vinegar and sugar
8) Cover the casserole with a lid
9) Bake at 325F for an 1 ½ hours

SERVING
10) Serve warm
