Chile Con Carne's picture
  Garlic 3 Clove (15 gm), crushed (Large Cloves)
  Chopped onions 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Lard/Bacon fat 2 Tablespoon
  Beef 1 Pound
  Pork 1 Pound
  Canned tomato puree 29 Ounce (1 Can Of 1 Pound And 13 Ounces Or 2 1/2 Cups)
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Chili powder 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Dried oregano 2 Teaspoon
  Ground cumin seed 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pitted ripe olives 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Or More)

Cook garlic and onions in shortening until wilted.
Cut meat into 1/2-inch cubes and add.
Brown meat; add all ingredients except olives and simmer until meat is tender.
Add the olives just long enough to heat.
Garnish with additional chopped onion if desired.
