Classic Coney Island Hot Dogs

Ingredients
  Onion soup mix 1 1⁄4 Ounce (1 Package)
  Hot water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Ground beef 1⁄2 Pound
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon
  Chili powder 1 Teaspoon
  Catsup 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Cooked hot dogs/Franks 1 Pound
  Hot dog buns 4
Directions

Soak onion soup mix in hot water for about 15 minutes.
Strain out onion pieces and save liquid.
Brown onion pieces and ground beef in shortening in large skillet.
Add seasonings, catsup, and liquid drained from onions.
Simmer together about 30 minutes.
Serve on hot dogs in buns.
