All American Tofu Sandwiches

Ingredients
  Firm tofu 1 Pound
  Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
  Tamari 1 Tablespoon
  Garlic powder 1 Teaspoon
  Whole wheat bread slice 8
  Prepared mustard/Ketchup 1 Tablespoon
  Eggless mayonnaise 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sliced tomato 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Alfalfa sprouts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Cut tofu into 1/2-inch thick slices. Let drain on paper towels.
Heat oil in a large skillet. Fry slices over medium-low heat, browning on both sides. Season with tamari and garlic. Drain on paper towels.
Assemble sandwiches.
