Boston Baked Beans With Black Treacle

Ingredients
  Haricot beans 1 Pound, soaked in water overnight (500 Gram)
  Water 50 Fluid Ounce (7 Cups / 1 3/4 Liters)
  Onion 1 , finely chopped
  Black treacle 2 Tablespoon
  Tomato paste 1 Tablespoon
  Mustard powder 1 Tablespoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoon
  Vinegar 1 Tablespoon
  Ground cloves 1 Pinch
  Seasonings To Taste
Directions

Preheat oven to 150°C (300°F).
Drain the haricot beans.
Place them in a large saucepan with water.
Bring to the boil.
Reduce heat.
Simmer for 45 minutes, removing any scum that rises to the surface.
Transfer the beans and liquid to a large casserole dish.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Bake, covered, for 2 hours.
Remove lid.
Bake for another 30 minutes or until beans are tender.
