Boston Baked Beans

Ingredients
  Haricot beans 1 Pound (500 Gram)
  Streaky bacon 12 Ounce, chopped (350 Gram)
  Onions 3 , chopped
  Mustard powder 2 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Black treacle 2 Tablespoon
  Canned tomato puree 5 Ounce (1 Can, 142 Gram)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Rinse the beans, cover with cold water and soak overnight.
Drain, cover with fresh cold water and bring to the boil.
Boil rapidly for 10 minutes, then drain.
Put the beans, bacon and onions in a casserole and add water to cover.
Stir in remaining ingredients, adding 2 teaspoons salt, and pepper to taste.
Cover and cook in a preheated cool oven, 150°C (300°F), Gas Mark 2, for 5 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally and adding more water if necessary.
