Charlotte S Quick Fruit Dessert
|Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Whole wheat pastry flour/Unbleached flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sliced apples/Berries||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Preheat oven to 350°C.
Melt margarine in bottom of 8 x 8-inch pan placed in oven.
Combine milk, sugar, flour, and baking powder.
Stir slightly, just moistening ingredients.
Pour mixture evenly onto melted margarine.
Pour fruit evenly over batter; push apple slices into batter slightly.
Sprinkle on cinnamon or nutmeg, if desired.
Bake about 1 hour or until done.
Serve hot or cold.
