Southern Sour Cream Cookies

Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Granulated sugar 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Egg 1 , well beaten
  Baking soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sifted cake flour 1 2⁄3 Cup (26.67 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Light sour cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Granulated sugar 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Work the shortening with a spoon until fluffy and creamy.
Gradually add 2/3 c sugar while continuing to work with a spoon until light.
Add the egg, and mix well.
Sift the soda, flour, baking powder, and salt together, and add alternately with the sour cream.
Add the chopped nuts and drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased or oiled cookie sheets.
Press each cookie somewhat flat with bottom of a wet glass dipped in granulated sugar.
Sprinkle tops of cookies with the cinnamon and the 1 tablesp sugar mixed together.
Bake in a moderately hot oven of 400ºF for 10-12 min.
