Basic Spoon Bread With Butter

Ingredients
  Milk/2 cup evaporated milk and 2 cup water 4 Cup (64 tbs) (Bottled)
  Fine water ground corn meal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine / fat / salad oil 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Eggs 4 , well beaten
Directions

Scald the milk in a double boiler.
Gradually stir in the corn meal and cook until the consistency of mush.
Add the butter and salt, and pour over the well-beaten eggs gradually, while stirring.
Pour into a greased or oiled 1 1/2 qt baking dish.
Bake in a hot oven of 425ºF for 45 min.
Serve at once with plenty of butter.
