|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Salad oil||1 Tablespoon|
Preheat oven to 450F.
Oil bottoms of 12 deep muffin cups generously.
Sift flour and salt together.
Beat eggs until very thick, then add milk, oil and sifted dry ingredients.
Beat until smooth.
Heat muffin cups in preheated oven until hot.
Fill cups 1/3 full with the batter.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, then reduce heat to 350F and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer.
Turn off oven heat.
Prick the side of each popover with the point of a knife and set back in the oven.
Serve as soon as possible.
Serving suggestions: Fill hot popovers with creamed chicken, mushrooms or shrimp, or pass with butter to accompany salads or serve with jelly or jam with tea or coffee.
