Independence Day Cole Slaw
|Vinegar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Celery seeds||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dry mustard||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Cabbage head||1 Small, shredded|
|Onion||1⁄2 , chopped|
|Green pepper||1⁄2 , cored, seeded and shredded ice water|
1) Mix the vinegar, celery seeds, mustard, and sugar in a pan and bring to a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Continue to boil for 15 minutes. Let cool.
2) Combine the cabbage, onion, and green pepper, and place in enough ice water to cover for 1 hour. Drain thoroughly. Combine vegetables with dressing an refrigerate overnight.
