Hawaiian Poached Pears

Ingredients
  Canned crushed pineapple 20 Ounce
  Red currant jelly 9 Ounce
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Lime juice 1 Tablespoon
  Fresh pear 6 Large (Fresh)
  Instant vanilla pudding mix 3 5⁄8 Ounce
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Whipping cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Toasted slivered almonds 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Combine pineapple, jelly, water and lime juice in large heavy skillet with a tight lid.
Heat gently until boiling and jelly is melted.
Cut pears in halves and peel and core them.
Drop into pineapple mixture, turn heat to low, cover and simmer until pears
