  Bacon slices 4
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Egg 1
  Water 2 Tablespoon
  Soft whole wheat bread crumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Thyme 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Condensed minestrone soup 10 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Can)
  Canned condensed tomato soup 10 3⁄4 Ounce (1 Can)
  Water 21 1⁄2 Ounce (2 Soups Can)

1. Saute bacon until crisp in a large saucepan; remove and drain on paper toweling; crumble and set aside for garnish. Pour off all drippings, then measure 1 tablespoonful and return to pan.
2. Mix ground beef lightly with egg, water, bread crumbs and seasonings until well-blended; shape into 48 balls.
3. Brown, half at a time, in drippings in pan; pour off any remaining drippings. Return all meat balls to pan; stir in soups and water; cover.
4. Simmer, stirring several times, about 20 minutes to blend flavors. Ladle into soup bowls; sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
