Old Fashioned Beef Stew
|Beef stew meat||1 Pound, cut into 1/4 inch pieces|
|Oil/Bacon drippings||1 Tablespoon|
|Canned tomatoes||8 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Beef broth||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cold coffee||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Potato||1 Medium, cut into 1/2 inch cubes|
|Carrot||1 Medium, thinly sliced|
|Onion||1 Medium, thinly sliced|
|Celery rib||1 , thinly sliced|
|Tomato paste||1 Tablespoon|
|Dried thyme leaves||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
1. Combine meat and oil in a 3-quart glass casserole. Cover. Microwave at Time Cook (power level 10) for 4 minutes, stirring once.
2. Stir flour into meat. Add remaining ingredients. Cover. Set microwave oven at Time Cook (power level 10) for 4 minutes, and then Time Cook (power level 4) for 40 minutes. Stir after 20 minutes' cooking time. If meat is not fork-tender, microwave at Time Cook (power level 4) an additional 10 minutes.
