Kentucky Mint Julep
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Mint leaves||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
In 2-cup glass measure, combine sugar and water.
Microwave at HIGH (10) 3 to 5 minutes or until hot and sugar is dissolved.
Add 1 cup mint leaves; let stand 2 hours.
Strain into small glass jar; cover tightly and refrigerate.
For each julep: Pour 1 tablespoon mint syrup mixture over crushed ice in tall glass.
Slowly add 2 ounces bourbon.
Garnish with mint sprigs.
