Beef Stew With Dumplings

Ingredients
  Boneless beef chuck 1 Pound, cut into 1 inch cubes
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Lemon juice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Garlic 1⁄2 Clove (2.5 gm), minced
  Onion 1⁄2 Medium, sliced
  Bay leaf 1 Small, crumbled
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Allspice 1 Pinch
  Sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Carrots 3 , halved
  Onions 4 Small
  Potatoes 2 , pared and quartered
  Dumplings 8 (Adjust Quantity As Needed)
Directions

Brown meat thoroughly on all sides in heavy saucepan.
Add all ingredients except carrots, whole onions, potatoes, and Dumplings.
Cover tightly.
Cook 1 hr. 45 min.
Add vegetables; cook 10 min.
Add Dumplings; finish cooking stew with Dumplings.
