Syrup Bread

Ingredients
  Corn syrup 2 1⁄2 Tablespoon (Golden Or Light)
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Ground ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sifted self rising flour/2 cups all-purpose flour sifted with 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cream of tartar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Slowly heat the syrup until liquid and then add the milk.
Mix all the dry ingredients together and make a well in the center.
Add the syrup and milk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix together to form a soft dough.
Turn the dough out onto a floured baking sheet and shape into a round cake about 6 inches in diameter with floured hands.
Brush the bread with milk and bake it toward the top of a moderately hot oven (400°F) for 15-20 minutes, until it is risen and golden brown.
