Picnic Slaw is an assortment of fresh vegetables with the deliciously pungent cabbage as its main feature. With a lemony mayonnaise and buttermilk dressing this slaw is the prefect accompaniment for a meal in the wilderness. Include this Picnic Slaw in your picnic menu, next time you plan one. |Cabbage head||1 Medium, shredded|
|Carrot||1 Large, shredded|
|Green pepper||1 Medium, julienned|
|Sweet red pepper||1 Medium, julienned|
|Onion||1 Medium, finely chopped|
|Green onions||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), sliced|
|Chopped parsley||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Buttermilk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Mayonnaise||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Celery seed||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients.
Combine dressing ingredients in a blender; process until smooth.
Pour over vegetables; toss to coat.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Stir before serving
