All American Burgers
|Blue cheese topping/Saut ed-onion, mushroom-and-pepper, or tomato-salsa topping||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
1. Prepare one of the toppings; keep warm. Meanwhile, shape ground beef into four 3/4-inch-thick oval patties; sprinkle lightly with pepper. Over high heat, heat 12-inch skillet until very hot. Arrange beef patties in hot skillet; cook patties 5 minutes for medium-rare or until of desired doneness, turning patties once.
2. To serve, arrange lettuce on platter; place patties on lettuce; serve with topping.
