Southern Style Cabbage
|Bacon slices||4 , cut into 1 inch pieces|
|Green cabbage head||1 Small, coarsely sliced|
|Onion||1 Small, thinly sliced|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1. In 5-quart Dutch oven or 12-inch skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until browned.
2. Add cabbage, onion, and salt; stir to coat cabbage evenly with bacon fat. Add water and reduce heat to medium-low; cover and cook 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is very tender and lightly browned.
