Maple Flavored Beef Stew
|Cubed beef||2 Pound|
|Onions||1 Cup (16 tbs), minced|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), chopped|
|Flour||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Beef broth||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Red wine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Maple syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Tomatoes||2 Cup (32 tbs), coarsely chopped|
|Fresh ginger||1⁄4 Teaspoon, grated|
|Celery||1 Cup (16 tbs), diced|
|Potatoes||3 Cup (48 tbs), peeled, diced|
|Carrots||2 Cup (32 tbs), diced|
Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
In a casserole dish, heat oil.
Sear beef cubes.
Add onions and garlic.
Continue cooking 1 minute.
Remove from heat.
Sprinkle with flour.
Pour in broth.
Add wine, maple syrup, tomatoes and ginger.
Season with salt and pepper.
Cook in oven 1 hour.
Fold in remaining ingredients.
Continue cooking in oven 1 hour.
